Publisher: National Endowment For Financial Education

Description: The High School Financial Planning Program has been developed to alert, inform, and educate high school students in financial planning. It is essential in our fast-moving, economically based society to have some knowledge of basic concepts of financial planning.

The purpose of this program is threefold:

    1. To teach students the financial planning process - what it is and what it can do for them.

    2. To give students the opportunity to apply the process through exercises provided in the units of the program.

    3. To encourage students to take control of their finances beginning right now.

The program presents basic concepts of personal financial planning. It can be integrated effectively in a variety of classes. The material is self-contained, each unit having a lesson plan, teaching outline, overview, learning activities, and quizzes/exams. Also included are overhead masters, student assignments, answer keys, and puzzles.
